💰 Metals outshining crypto: Gold and silver’s recent price surge has taken the spotlight away from crypto and Bitcoin, with social media chatter now being dominated by the precious metals. 🪙 Crypto collapse: Bitcoin fell more than 6% yesterday to below $82,000, its lowest level since last April, and nearly 35% lower than its all-time high from last October. Other major coins saw similar downturns, and the crypto market cap as a whole is down 13% in the last two weeks.

🥪 Jersey Mike’s IPO: The sandwich chain with more than 3,300 locations nationwide was bought by Blackstone for $8 billion in 2024, and is now reportedly pursuing a public offering at a valuation of at least $12 billion.

🏢 New apartment supply slows: New apartment completions fell to 89,400 in Q4, the lowest quarterly total since early 2023, with all four U.S. regions showing declines in supply.

⚾ Whatnot doubles sales in 2025: The online live shopping platform recorded $8 billion of sales last year, with sports cards and trading card game (TCG) cards the two best-selling categories in the U.S., as its success has boosted the collectibles market. As a company, WhatNot’s valuation has more than doubled in the last year as well.

🚀 Northwood Space raise: The space infrastructure startup founded by a former Disney Channel star raised a $100 million Series B round at an undisclosed valuation, as space tech remains one of the fastest growing sectors in VC.
