How to Find the Next Anthropic Early
Anthropic’s highly anticipated IPO is reportedly coming this month and could carry a $2 trillion valuation. Investors in their Series B round in 2022 got in at a $4 billion valuation, and are now in line for a staggering return. SpaceX’s Series A round was at a $547 million valuation and it IPO’d this year at a $1.77 trillion valuation, more than 3,000x higher. Even a small investment in either of those companies made early enough would result in an incredible payoff.

But nearly every investor will only be able to get Anthropic shares once it does go public, when the promise of 1000x or even 10x returns seems vanishingly small. It didn’t used to be this way, though, as investing in the likes of Amazon (2600x), Google (135x), or even Meta (18x) when those companies went public was extremely lucrative. This limit to the upside in new issuances has come because the best startups are staying private longer, and are going public at significantly higher valuations. In other words, the vast majority of the juice has been squeezed out before the public has a chance to benefit.
How to Invest in Growth Stage Startups?
While it is difficult for everyday investors to invest in growth stage startups, there are multiple options, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. There are Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) that are organized to buy shares in private companies, often in official funding rounds on a company’s cap table, though they also purchase secondary shares as well. AngelList is the most well-known platform where SPVs are hosted, and accredited investors can invest in startups anywhere from seed stage to late stage. Generally SPVs have high minimums, high fees, and require a significant amount of research to pick and choose the right investments on a deal by deal basis.
Crowdfunding platforms offer deals to unaccredited investors, but there is often an adverse selection issue where only companies that can’t get traditional funding turn to those platforms. A number of secondary marketplaces allow investors to buy shares directly from existing holders or in SPVs organized by the platform, which can be an option for accredited investors. However, for many desirable names there is little to no inventory and it can sometimes be unclear who exactly you are transacting with. There also tend to be high minimums and require investors to do their research and pick winners.
For those investors who want exposure to a diversified portfolio of startups, there are venture funds, but those generally have minimums in the six or seven figures, very little liquidity, and are not a true option for the vast majority of people. Recently, publicly traded venture funds have launched, such as Fundrise’s VCX or Robinhood’s RVI, but those are populated by very late stage companies. There is also no control for investors - they have to just take whatever the portfolio managers choose.
The private markets are fraught with adverse selection and incentives, high fees, low trust, high friction, and confusing structures. For individual investors who may not have the time or experience to navigate them, it can be frustrating to miss out on potentially life-changing returns. Get Access is a new investment platform designed to solve these issues.
What is Get Access?
Get Access is a newly launched investment platform and community that was founded by Guy Oseary, the co-founder of Sound Ventures, and the CEO of Maverick, a music management company. Oseary is also the manager of Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Alongside Oseary are Zachary Ginsburg and Alex Pattis, two longtime investors who have created and invested in thousands of SPVs, and CEO Michael Goodbody, formerly the Global Head of Marketing at Robinhood.
The founders are changing the way people invest into growth-stage companies, combining Oseary’s network of notable people with Ginsburg and Pattis’ investing experience. The resulting platform brings together an exclusive group of investors and presents them with a target of one curated deal a week, ordinarily brought to the community by one of its Access Investors. These are world-class investors including the likes of Tim Ferriss, Josh Wolfe, Elad Gil, Katie Jacobs Stanton and more. Every deal is directly on the cap table, and while there is a membership fee to join the network, there are no ongoing management or fund administration fees. The idea is to bring the best companies to the best network of investors, who can in turn help boost those companies.
Deal Example

As one of the first deals available, Get Access members had the ability to invest in the AI infrastructure startup Crusoe, which recently raised a $3.9 billion round at a $30.9 billion valuation. It was introduced to the community by a billion dollar fund manager and early investor in Crusoe who built a close relationship with the company.
Why Join Get Access?
At its core, Get Access is about the opportunities its members get to invest in potentially transformational growth-stage startups. Each deal has a minimum investment of $2,500, far lower than on secondary markets, keeping it accessible and allowing members to build a diversified portfolio. Members can invest in whatever offerings they choose and are not locked into a pre-made portfolio like they would be in a VC fund. And with every deal on the cap table there is no uncertainty about counterparties or the status of the shares. These are part of primary financing rounds - the type of access that ordinary investors simply do not get.
Get Access works with a network of Access Investors, including early investors in companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, SpaceX and Anduril, to bring investment opportunities to members. Get Access co-invests in every deal and charges no management or setup fees, earning its revenue from annual memberships and carried interest, a share of profits on successful investments. This structure helps align Get Access’s incentives with those of its members.
Get Access has been featured in Business Insider, and applicants since its October launch include an Academy Award, Grammy and Emmy winners, NBA champions, a World Series champion, an Olympic gold medalist, and owners of NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS teams. They’re joined by 27 unicorn founders and 88 C-suite and senior executives at companies including Meta, Google, JPMorgan, Spotify and Figure AI.
